Bad weather, court fees and cancellation
In the event of bad weather I’ll call or text if postponement
or cancellation is necessary. Always assume your booking
will take place unless you hear from me.
Court bookings are made online by me, often well in advance
to ensure availability, and paid for at the time of booking
rather than on the day of play.
I operate a 24-hour notice cancellation policy but would
appreciate more notice where possible. I generally charge
the full lesson fee i.e. coaching fee and court fee when
you give less than 24 hours’ notice. There’s no coaching
charge for lessons cancelled or postponed with at least
24 hours' notice but the court fee remains payable if I've
paid it before receiving notice of cancellation, irrespective
of how much notice is given. This is because LB Camden,
who run the courts at Kilburn Grange and Waterlow Park,
operate a 'no refunds' policy on court bookings. Paid court
bookings can be carried over only in the event of postponement
due to bad weather, and at the discretion of LB Camden.
So for the avoidance of doubt, while I don't charge a coaching
fee for lessons either cancelled or postponed with at least
24 hours' notice or because of bad weather, the court fee
may still be payable - sorry!
